i love this place. it is the club I would go to if i'm not interested in a long drive adventure because it is only an hour away from where i live. My last job was a 100% travel, so, i tried so many clubs in so many states, but this one has a special rating for me.

First of all, it is not in the middle of nowhere like the good places i've been to, but in one of the biggest towns in this area and was very safe as far as I've seen (been to it many times). Second, it's only $5 to get in and only $15 for a real hot private dance (I rarely drink, but drinks are usually cheaper than bars in the area that don't have naked dancing girls :)). The staff is very simple and super friendly, a guy in the front, a dj at the back, topless dance area, and a middle aged owner who shakes people's hands when they leave thanking them for coming, in addition to an older lady bar tender and a bouncing girl. Finally, the dancers are not models (to be honest with you), but they are hot (all white) and my type and are very friendly and work hard for your tip. This is the only place I've ever been to where when i leave, i don't feel like I lost money, but that I should've given those girls more cuz they deserve more. The private dances are really private and most of them are open to extras (if not the first time, then in your later visits, they will remember you).

There are two more things I didn't mention, one is that they...

This place is a little difficult to find and isn't in a real nice part of town -- near the train-tracks. Others have adequately and accurately described the physical layout of the club. Bottle beer is $3, cover was $5. The dancing area is a sunken room off of the bar area. If you get up close and personal in the dancing area, the dancers will solicit you for tips. If you hang out at the bar or even at the back tables near the bar, you can enjoy the show (albeit from a distance) and you won't be hassled for tips. All of the girls have body art - when I was there, the quality was in the 6-8 range and there were all body types. I got some private time with Andy, a cute spinner-type. $50 for 14 mins (she actually brought in a kitchen timer so you will not get shorted). The two lap dance areas are couches with a hole in the wall where the "chaperone" sits. There is an official "no touching" rule which I broke but only in the northern regions -- Andy seemed to imply that YMMV depending upon the girl. The lap dance quality is also dependent upon the girl. I never saw the chaperone but due to the proximity, I serious doubt extras could be enjoyed there. Andy had a nice body and a great lap dance technique that got me what I needed. She also indicated that for her, take out was available but her prices were outrageously high. Remarkably, she says she gets them. I guess you other mongers have a higher budget than me! All in all this place is pretty good...

I decided to check out Coconuts partly out of curiosity and partly as a change of pace from other clubs.

Location:

Coconuts is in Altoona, which says a lot right there. The local neighborhood is hard to describe. It seemed like an odd mixture of some industrial stuff and some residential stuff. I really didn’t see any people out an about on the streets nearby, and only saw one younger guy loitering around when I left. So, the neighborhood didn’t strike me as being particularly unsafe.

The 2314 Union Ave address is technical correct, but the entrance is in the back, on the 9th Ave side of the building. I walked around the whole building before figuring out that the entrance door is in the south-west corner of the building (almost in the alley between Coconuts and the adjacent building to the South). If there is a sign in the parking lot area pointing to the entrance, I didn’t see it. If there isn’t… management might want to add one.

Parking / Valet:

There appeared to be on street parking on Union Ave. There is also a decent sized parking lot on the 9th Ave side of the building. Considering the entrance is on the 9th Ave side, I’d go for the lot. No valet.

The Club:

After finding the entrance… the doorman swiped my driver’s license through one of those scanner things. (Not really cool with that.) Paid $5 cover (not bad) and received three fives I change for a...

I went to Club Coconuts just after 9pm on a Saturday night. The club was just opening. You pay a $5 cover at the door after being buzzed into the building. The entire club has a tropical/island/pirate theme to it. The main room is split into two areas more or less. An upper area has a bar and tables and chairs, while a lower dance floor area is where the dancers perform. You can sit at the rail, in a couch, or at a table in this lower area, and the dancers will come over and work for tips regardless. They don’t stay on the poles the whole time. There is a second room called the Hedo Lounge down a short hallway and through a door that acts as a secondary performing area with a separate DJ. While there is a pole and stage in this other room, dancers will work around the entire room getting tips from customers. Off of the Hedo Lounge is an outside smoking area called “the beach”. Next to the DJ booth in the Hedo Lounge are two closets with couches, which act as the venues for getting lap dances. A bottle of beer was affordable at $3. The crowd was mostly single guys, but as the night wore on, more couples came in. Club Coconuts seems like it could be a hybrid strip club/nightclub.

There were eight dancers working the shift. I overheard that there was supposed to be ten, but apparently a couple decided to not come in. Most of the dancers were white and heavily tattooed. I asked a few of the dancer’s their ages, and would surmise the average came to be about 29-30....

I was in the Altoona Area and decided to stop here. The entry fee is now five dollars. But I believe my Bud Light was two dollars. Five dancers graced the stage this evening. All were rather on the young side maybe early to mid 20s, all of medium build, and all we're good looking enough for the profession they chose. I started my evening at the high tables on the dance floor in front of the stage. Went through the five girl lineup, before deciding which dancer I would like to experience in the back. A medium built brunette who may have been the youngest of all them was my choice for this evening. She seemed to be the friendliest girl of the evening. And at the time, I thought she would be the most fun in the back room. At least she was the most fun by the stage.

Lap dances are priced one for $15, two for $30, or four for $50. I of course chose the longest block of time.

When we got to the back, it was about as tame a dance I've had in a long time. For the first two songs, she didn't even say a word. When I started a discussion with her myself, she told me she'd only been dancing for a couple months. After the lap dance, that was very apparent.

I am sure I will return here at some point in time, but I don't see it being any time soon.
