I write this review with a heavy heart. The Night Before Lounge used to be my favorite local haunt, but dynamics have changed wildly in Lincoln in the last two years. This review feels more like an obituary than a recommendation. My evening starts by walking in to find there is no one checking ID or taking cover charges at the door. There had been like a $3-$5 cover after 7:30 pm previously, so I wait around for a minute, but the only people in the club are one dancer and one patron. Where is everyone on a Friday night? I give up and walk to the bar ordering a single bottle of domestic beer for $6 when help finally arrives. The club's decor is maybe a cross of cheap imitation Vegas strip club glam and dive bar neon signs--it's not bad but not great. Eventually I see the long-time bartender, a few more patrons arrive (more sit at the bar than by the stage), and the dancing rotation gradually comes out of hiding from behind the curtain in the back. There were only four girls in rotation on a single stage, each doing four-song sets (self-programmed in the system, no DJ). That's a long time to wait if you don't find the dancer attractive, and I didn't find half the rotation attractive. The dancers that were acceptable looking were short on energy and enthusiasm. I asked the bartender about the girls coming in the late shift, and it sounded like there might be 6 by the end of the night, but I didn't recognize any names I thought were wort...

Had just a short amount of time after a social engagement in downtown Lincoln, so I thought I'd stop by the Night Before. I set my expectations very low, after spending time there 10-15 tears ago. Back then it was dark and dingy, less erotic than dumpster-like. It was better-lit now; you can actually stand at one end of the bar and see if there are people at the other end. Cover was $5 and soft drink was nearly $5. ATM charged a $4 fee, which is actually pretty good for a strip joint. The bigger surprise was the upgrade in the dancers--no oinkers or skanks. There was one girl who had the washed-out, worn-out look of a prematurely old woman, tats and small tits and disinterested dancing. But two old geezers sure liked having her sit at their table.

There were two brunettes that looked nice, one who was a little spinner with tats who liked hanging with the brothers. I didn't get to see her dance, but she had a fine body. There was a bottle blonde that looked pretty good that I didn't get to see dance, either, but I wanted to. She had a decent body, too. The main stage is small and raised so that the dancer has to crouch down to talk as you stand next to the stage, so any activity during the dances is limited. There are a couple of small booths with beads for private dances, but I couldn't corral a dancer to look into it. The second stage was not being used--it was smaller and lower. I wondered if the place would get better late...

It is a really comfortable place to work, the owner Kenny is a great guy and the dancers are very easy to get along with. Due to city ordinances, girls must wear latex and they strictly enforce the no-contact laws. There is a small area for private dances (only room for 2 at a time), which are $20. There are no house fees, in fact you get paid $9 an hour in addition to your tips. Tipout for the dj is 10%. During day shift there is no dj...girls use the jukebox and can put their own cd's into it. Also on Sundays, it's jukebox too. DJ's work 8-close Mon-Sat. There are three stages, but we use only the main one until it gets really busy, and then we open the other two. I can't remember if they close at 11:45 or 12:45 on Sundays, in fact they may open at 7pm Sundays but I'm not positive on that (it's been awhile). The average day shift is 3-4 girls. The average night shift is 4-5. Girls dance 15 minute sets unless there are only three girls, in which case they dance 20 minute sets. Let''s see, what else?? I can't really think of anything but if you're in Lincoln, this is THE ONLY place you want to dance. Very clean place, great management, and overall a really fun place to work. Day shift is from 3 to 8 (dancers arriev at 3, but don't go onstage until 3:30). Nites are obviously 8-close. Day shift, you waitress in addition to dancing, till the cocktail waitresses come in.

The Night Before doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a cozy little club with three stages (one dancer per stage). It's a long, kind of narrow place. The main stage is in the middle of the room, with two smaller stages at the front and back--one close to the entrance and the bouncers, and the other at the back across from the bar. There's also a small room with two chairs nearer the front for private dances.

I've been to the club a few times now, and on any given night the dancers range from 5-8 depending on your tastes. I like 'em a little curvier, but they've had girls to suit most fancies. They even have some ethnic diversity depending on the night, and in the Midwest that can be hard. Of course the Night Before is in Lincoln, so the girls are only topless, and there's a city ordinance against touching the dancers at all. In fact, I'd say about a third or more of the times I've been there I've seen a cop at least stop in the club for a while, so I think the ordinance is enforced. Obviously, the main stage is always open, and depending on how busy the club is and how many girls are working, they'll open up the other two if needed. For $1-2 you'll get a nice little show for yourself at one of the stages, and private dances are $20. Cocktails start around $5.

The last time I went to the club, my wife and I went together, and we had a pretty good time, but I t...

I really like this bar! A quaint old building in Downtown Lincoln, tastefully decorated and the ladies are all attractive.

5pm on a Thursday finds me in the city with an hour or two to kill, Hello NBL!!! There was no cover charge this early in the day. (Granted, I headed straight for the bar, ordered a drink, tipped the bartender and found a spot at the main stage with a handful of spending money.) There are 20 patrons and five dancers. No DJ on duty this early in the day so the dancers pick their music from the Juke Box. Three to four song sets give the ladies plenty of time to work the main stage. (And yes, just ask, A private dance can be easily arranged.)

The waitress does not seem to be on duty yet, but that is OK, as the topless dancers fill in for her and work the crowd for their drink orders. If you prefer, A trip to the fully stocked bar is also acceptable, where the bartender knows how to pour a drink (strong).

I have been to the NBL on a Saturday Night when you could hardly get into the door. Honestly, when it is packed, it is too full. Anything less than packed and it is a really great little lounge.

There are other options in the Lincoln area, But if you want to see attractive, topless ladies & enjoy a good drink in a nice, clean facility, The NBL is the only choice.
