The club is physically run-down looking and pretty seedy. It's not a very inviting building. The quality of the dancers varies hugely, from local "girls", some of whom have been doing this for way too long, to 10/10 visiting dancers from bigger cities.

None of this matters. It's the only strip club in town. In fact, it's the only strip club in the province. So if you're in Halifax/Dartmouth, this is where you're going. And to be fair the staff are friendly and the ambience relaxed once you're inside.

There are no lap dances here. A private dance happens in a booth where the performer will be at least several feet away from you for the whole time - and there's a camera monitoring them to make sure they don't break any rules. I'm sure this is a result of Nova Scotia's puritanical regulations, but still, it makes the private dances basically a waste of time - it's no different from watching the same girl from pervert's row, except much more expensive.

This is a town where $250 will get you an hour with an escort who will be hotter than any of the regulars at Ralph's. I'd consider spending my money that way instead... even if all you want from her is a lapdance.

I was in Halifax for business and drove across the bridge to Dartmouth. Darmouth is more blue collar and industrial than Halifax but Ralph's is a fairly safe looking neighborhood. The club is looks like it could be a local bar as much as anything. Arrived around 9pm. There were a few gals hanging around with what looked like regulars. One single stage with a dancer performing when I came in. For the most part, it appeared to be a younger crowd and they looked like they were hanging out in a bar after work rather than interested in getting any dances. After about 1/2 hour, a 6 looking short blonde approached and after a 15 minute conversation went for a couple of dances. Dances were basically air dances which I remember being the case the one time I was here years ago. I think they were $15/dance but I can't say I remember for sure now. After about 5 dances, I went and had another beer and watched the dancers for a while before heading back to my hotel. An alright place if you want to hang out and have a few beers and watch some naked ladies but that's about all you'll get here. I probably go back again more as a bar but not at the top of my list for strip clubs.

Ralph's Place is a 'neighbourhood bar' style SC. It is in a strip mall with a pizza joint next door. The first thing that I noticed as the cab dropped me off at the door was a sign that shouted - ADULT ENTERTAINMENT! Also unusual were the signs advertising the food specials available from the kitchen inside the club. The external advertising for this club is very subdued, nothing to indicate that naked gaping vaginas are on display inside.

$7 cover to enter the club with an indelible ink stamp on your hand so you can come and go from the club for a smoke or whatever. No cover before 4:00PM. Private dance area on your left as you enter and a bar on your right. Another bar on the left further into the room, compact stage in the centre of the room and VLTs for your gambling pleasure on a dais at the back of the room.

Only a single waitress/bartender was working the room during my visit and the place was busy with probably 60 customers and approx 15 dancers plying their trade. That poor waitress was certainly earning her money that night. Good happy party atmosphere with dancers mingling and drinking with their regulars. Many bouncers in attendance but no hassle or intimidation from them. All they seemed to do was rearrange chairs and smile benignly at the over-worked waitress. Not one of them lifted a finger to give her a hand.

$6.50 beer for me. I had to settle for Labatt's Blue; no market for my Alberta beers ou...

For the only club in NS it can be whatever it wants to be because there is no other club for miles. You can travel to Moncton if you want. Too bad the province doesn't allow "friction dances". Needing to have a table between you and the dancer kinda sucks. They have an amateur night that I've never been to myself, but good for the amateurs with the courage to go up there.

I know you don't go for the kitchen, but they have a decent club sandwich. Wish they would use real cheese instead of the Kraft slices. You can grab pizza next door if you want or Mickiedees, I guess.

Parking is good, lots of space.

They handle the shitty drunk guys well. Anyone enjoying the dancers, have to hate the guys that are being total losers, right? Glad the door staff take care of them.

It had been a few years since I was last at Ralph's and it is in dire need of a deep cleaning and renovation, especially for being the provinces only club. Drinks are reasonably priced, but make sure you eat before you go. Food is available, but they literally buy pizza from one of the local restaurants and then sell it by the slice. The dancers are ok, but you will be disappointed if you like boobs. Private lap dances are less lap, and more lap adjacent as the booths have a barrier between you and the dancer.
