I am from out of town so it was my first time at this club. From previous reviews I noticed this club was formerly called Harlem Knights. When I visited on 3/10/2012, it was going by the name of Harlem Knights again.

I got to the club around 10:30 p.m. on a Saturday night. Was the only customer when I arrived; I guess it is the kind of club that gets going later in the night? The club is in an industrial area and looks pretty dumpy from the outside. But inside it is clean and very roomy. There are lots of tables and several couches along the walls plus a VIP room in the 2nd floor which I did not visit. I paid $10 to get in. There is not too much parking there but it was not an issue for me since I arrived early. Although I am not much of a drinker, the bar has a limited selection – I asked for a Heineken and I was told all they had was Budweiser and Miller Light – I got a Budweiser for $5. When you walk in the club, there is a sign there that says it’s $5 per dance (this is good and bad as I will describe later). The music and DJ were okay – the music was not too loud and the DJ was not too annoying and did not talk that much or interrupt songs trying to give his personal monologue. This is a black club and most of the customers are African American although there were a few other white customers in there as the night progressed. The crowd is a bit of a young crowd and were dressed kind of thuggish but everything was calm during the time I...

I had a good time but it was a slow night for some reason. The ladies, 99% black, would dance on stage but the guys weren’t tipping much so they worked the floor (table dances and VIP room) really hard. On the floor the ladies were fully dressed in their outfits. But, when they got a table dance request, it was like the tops would fly off. And, most of the girls were packing really full C cups or D-cups. There was one white chick there. She was a 100% WHOOTY- great breast, a tight waist, and touting much booty!! I never saw her dance on stage or the floor. She’d walk up to a guy, give a little conversation and it was off to the VIP room. And, at $20 to use the VIP room & $20 a song, she was draining them for at least $80. The VIP rooms have been remodeled with more privacy. There was this other sister – not a beauty queen & looked a little older – but her body was banging and she was dragging the most wagon in the place. But, those were the stand out, there were other ladies there – different shapes and sizes. Security was relaxed I thought so touching, etc. was allowed but you couldn’t go overboard. I blow my cash this dancer named Sunshine (light skin sister). She was great overall & worked hard!!

Club is in a seedy neighborhood, but it appears quite safe. Free parking in a lighted area, and a uniformed security guard at the entrance. Twenty dollar cover at 11:30 pm. No pat-down or wristband. All dancers and employees and about 95% of the customers appeared to be African-American. I woud estimate there were around 150 customers in the large room An attractive young woman found me a good seat, and did not act like I should tip her. Shortly after she departed, another attractive young woman came by and asked me if I wanted to buy a drink. I said, "yes I will have a beer if you sell beer." She said they did not sell any alcoholic beverages. I passed on a drink, and she courteously departed without further comment. If there were bouncers in the room, they were all wearing civilian clothes - no tuxes. There was a DJ chattering away in a strongly accented voice. Most of what he said was unintelligible except for the word "motherfucker". Lighting was medium -- seemed about right for the activity going on.

On stage were two attractive black dancers in bikinis. Doing the gyrations - legs in air, simulated doggie-style writhing, etc. No pole dancing. I never saw any dancer on or off stage take off a single bit of clothing. I was never approached by any dancer to "keep me company" or buy her a drink, or buy her a lap dance, or to go to the Private area with her. I noticed several dancers giving personal dances to differ...

Reminds me of Irving's in MD which is a club I really like, but Irving's works because it is small. This club is just a little too much of a good thing. You walk into it and there are people everywhere. I expected to see people falling from the ceiling it was so packed. Almost claustrophobic. More of a nightclub vibe than a strip club, but too well lit for that. Not that I spent much time in them, but night clubs were the only places I wanted darker then strip clubs.

The girls were fairly attractive and stacked. The patrons looked like all types and kinds, but almost everyone in the place was black. FYI, if nothing else. Atmosphere was pretty electric, kind of like Show Palace but there's more space to move around at the latter and the girls are much better looking. Since I think I've mentioned that club in three reviews running, here's the deal with Houston: If you want to see the best black club (which HK falls into), that's going to be Show Palace just ahead of Onyx. The best latino club in town is Michael's, and the best club period is Treasures. Harlem Knights is a pretty good club, but wouldn't say it's great and certainly think it's been oversold in a couple of the other reviews you'll read. Kind of like its movie namesake.

I was a little too sober for all the commotion, so I decided to head back to the car and look up some liquor options. Houston stops selling liqu...

Harlem Knights has always been my favorite club in Houston. Although the outside looks like its a neighborhood hole in the wall, the inside is clean, roomy, modern and well kept. They always have a stable of nice looking women whose bodies are incredible. Most of that has not changed. What has changed are the rules and the attitudes of the women. In my opinion this has totally changed the experience of going to Harlem Knights and knocked the ratings down several points.

There is still a big main stage across the back of the club, a large stage at the front and several (at least three) smaller stages around the club. There are usually two girls performing on the main stage and one girl on each of the other stages. In the center of the club and all around the room are plenty of tables with very comfortable chairs. It's BYOB or you can get something from the house, but I don't drink so I don't know what the house is serving. VIP seating is located in several different areas of the club, sometimes in other rooms or in roped off sections. VIP seating charge is $15 and this is where the rules come in and the experience changes.

After you pay for VIP seating this is where most of the "table dancing" occurs. They have a 3 foot rule which means that the women can dance nude for you, but they must be 3 feet away and absolutely no touching. A table dance is $10-$20 per song just to look at the same girl you can see on s...
